Joana’s Leveling Guide remains an intensely user-friendly guide, exactly what you would expect from WoW’s longest serving Horde leveling guide.

The writing is clear and instruction is given in an easily followed, step by step format.

Joana’s Guide became major news in WoW when Joana ( the guide’s writer ) recorded the speediest 1-60 leveling time. Since that point newer guides have come along and as of WOTLK Joana’s is not the speediest guide around some have even moaned it’s getting further behind the newer competition. The waypoints, directional arrows and instructions are solid and correct, leaving the user certain of where they need to go to choose up new quests and complete search objectives. The instructions given are clear and, as discussed above, do not leave the user confused about what must be done.

The guide has been criticised for being superseded on its approach to leveling, counting on the content produced pre-expansion packs and not taking merit of new prospects. Joana’s Guide stays on top of updates, having them prepared whenever new expansions and major patches are rolled out. Sadly they’re not included in the cost of the guide ( you essentially need to buy the 1-70 and 70-80 guides separately ), which is another show of the way the guide isn’t keeping up the times. The guide doesn’t come with any extra bonuses, though updates to the 1-70 section of the guide is listed as a bonus on the guide’s website.
